HygieneForWomen aims to educate and empower women in under-privileged communities worldwide. This movement was started in the San Franscisco Bay area and plans to expand this to communities worldwide, As a part of this mission we organized several boot camps in various rural communities in the state of Telengana, India. Some examples of our efforts are shown here. Our goal is to make this a global movement to empower women to be healthy and be confident. The mastermind of this organization Sruthi actively participates in conducting these camps.
This is our very first project Outside U.S. and we are proud to say that Hygiene For Women has successfully distributed 500 pads, soaps and shampoos to more
than 100 Girls/women in Punugondla Village of Telengana State, India, Most of the residents of this village lack basic necessities such as proper shelter, clothing, food or even light. With the funds raised we were able to buy 5 sanitary napkins, few soaps and one shampoo per person.
During these boot camps HFW has successfully educated to promote feminine hygiene and distributed several sanitary napkins, soaps and shampoos.
We like to thank Mrs. Nalini Narayan, District Project Manager, SERP-DRDA, Mahabubabad district for organizing this event.
